In aid of Yorkshire Air Ambulance

Marshalls first annual charity night helps to raise over £2,500 for 'Yorkshire Air Ambulance Service Charity'

Read the Hebden Bridge Times article from 06/12/02.

Many thanks to all who turned out on Friday 22nd November 2002 to witness Marshalls Bar first annual charity event.

The event itself took many hours of 'behind the scenes work' to organise and coordinate. John would like to personally thank everyone involved.

On the night of course, all this hard work finally paid off.

The grand total exceeded two thousand, five hundred and sixty five pounds, a fantastic effort by anyone's standards!

The list of THANK-YOU's are too numerous to mention individually, however the efforts of Mary and Betty for their Wednesday night Bingo session cannot go unmentioned. This regular weekly event without doubt helped to fill the majority of the bottle full of money behind the bar (this alone totaled over one thousand pounds).

The contributions of our local shops and businesses also helped to make the event a roaring success with all but a hand full of items donated came from the Hebden Bridge area.

The event has also hopefully helped to raise the profile of the 'Yorkshire Air Ambulance Service Charity'. Before the event many local people had the impression that the Air Ambulance was solely funding by the government. This is not the case, in fact, all but the wages for extra paramedics are provided by charitable donations such as ours.

The final cheque for the event was gratefully received by Paul Gowland, the local Yorkshire Air Ambulance Service Charity representative on Wednesday 27th November.

Finally, a BIG thank you to John Taylor without whose support this event would not be possible, and most of all - THANK-YOU to all who gave their time and money to this year's event, let's make next year's even bigger!
